Saving Outlook Messages to Hard Drive

Hello, I have an Outlook 2003 problem/question. Thanks in advance for
any help you can provide.

I often need to edit an incoming message and save it to my hard drive
as an .msg file. When I go to close the message, it asks me if I want
to save the changes and I click on NO. But, when I reopen the message
in Outlook the edits I have made HAVE been saved. Any idea why it does
this and how to prevent it from saving my changes in Outlook when I
say not to?

Thanks.

What I think is happening is that you're editing the message and saving it
to disk, but Outlook is asking you is you want to save the changed to your
message still in Outlook, which it different than the message you saved to
disk. Open the message on disk and open the message in Outlook and compare
them. I suspect you'll see the former was as you saved it but the latter is
the origina.
