Saving network settings

When going through the network wizard and you come to the
last screen about saving network settings, how do i save
these setting to HDD or cdrw. My machine has card readers
and i only have this option to save to. Does this
actually save the settings or does it just save the
wizard for use on older versions of windows. ??
 
The settings that are changed are being written back to the the registry.
