Peer to peer Win2000 to Win XP?

If anyone has done this (I have cable from Win2000 network card to WinXP
likewise) I need some help.
I have done shared network folders, run the wizard on XP, taken the 3.5 disk
with saved network setup across to Win2000, but it seems to not work. File
sharing is not active and either PC does not show respective icons on looking
at whole network scene?

Hi there

First of all, make sure you're using a cross over cable if you're going from
NIC to NIC. Secondly, what protocols are you using? TCP/IP is the easiest,
make sure they are both on the same subnet. Try these settings:

PC1
IP Address 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

PC2
IP Address 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

Thanx Smogfrog,

I'll do that with the IP address, as this was one problem error. TCP/IP is
invoked on both PC's.
