saving in hotmail sent items

I was using Outlook XP at work and outlook express at home earlier. Recently
switched to outlook 2003 at work.
I have my POP3 account and hotmail account configured in both the places.
In outlook 2003, when i send mail using hotmail account, a copy is saved in
local sent items but not in hotmail sent items. With Outlook XP, the copy was
saved in hotmail sent items without any problem.
I have another question is - hot to stop outlook from synchronising hotmail
folder while opening outlook? with outlook express, I can open in an instant,
but with outlook, I have to wait till syncronisation is over.

Disable the option to save Sent Items and create rules that move copies of
the outgoing messages to the appropriate Sent Items folder. Outlook 2002's
behavior should be identical in this respect to Outlook 2003.

Perhaps by removing the Hotmail account from the Send/Reeceive group.

Thanks Brian.
1. The way of saving in sent items by "creating rules" is a quite
roundabout. Outlook 2002 did not need any rules for this job. why outlook
2003?
Surprisingly from yesterday night, this problem got solved automatically and
now messeges sent by hotmail account are getting saved in hotmail sent items
folder though they are only as "Headers" and still need to be downloaded to
be viewed that was not the case in Outlook XP.

2. I have tried by removing hotmail from send/receive group but doesn't helps.
