why are all emails sent as from hotmail ?

outlook 2003-I have 2 pop3 accounts and 1 hotmail account set up with outlook
2003.
Up until about 3 days ago everything was just fine. Now when ever I send
email from either pop3 account recipients receive the message from my hotmail
account.Copies of the sent message are saved in both pop3 and hotmail sent
items folders as from the hotmail account.
Some of my contacts cannot receive mail from hotmail and this is how it came
to my attention.
I have tried just about everything to no avail.I reinstalled outlook and
chose not to import hotmail account but Outlook imported it anyway !
If I remove the hotmail account from Outlook then the 2 remaining pop3
acounts will not function,ie,send or receive emails.
Anyone have any suggestions ?

Are you using the MSN connector for hotmail? Which account is set as default
in tools, accounts?

it's an option if you have an MSN Premium account (which can include up to
10 hotmail or msn addresses) and syncs your mail, calendar, and contacts
between outlook and the web site. Some people using it noticed that if their
default account wasn't available that the msn connector took over as
default...

Try one of two things- an new profile or remove the hotmail account, close
outlook and add the account back.

Ok.I removed the hotmail account, closed outlook, reopened outlook and added
back the hotmail account. One of the 2 pop3 accounts is still the default. No
difference I'm afraid, still the same problem.
One thing, after removing the hotmail account my pop3 accounts are unable to
send to any hotmail account ! I get error message saying "none of your email
accounts are able to send to this recipient".
What possibly could I have changed in the last few days that would bring
about these problems ? I do not remember changing any settings whatsoever.
As for adding a new profile should I remove/delete the current one after
adding new one ?

Could you turn on diagnostic logging (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q300479) and post
the OPMLog.log file (preferably as an attachment) after this happens?
Please don't delete the old profile if you take Diane's suggestion (which I
agree is probably the next thing to try - *after* you get that log file!) -
if creating a new profile solves your problem, I'd like to walk you through
the steps necessary to send some information about the old one to us for
investigation.
