saving bitmaps problem

hi there,
I am wondering if anyone can help me. When i try to save a bitmap picture
from a website, 9 times out of 10 it causes internet explorer to shut down
and all open windows close. Is there anything I can do to prevent this. I
have no problem with jpegs or other picture files.

You probably do not have enough memory space set aside for the BMP files for
they are much larger than JPGs. The following is by courtesy of John Inzer
(MVP)
Try running Disk Cleanup to delete all your
temp and temporary internet files...also
empty your recycle bin.
