JPEG images flipped to bitmap

Hi,
Everytime I access Microsoft Photos! or any other
enhancing program, it flips all of the photos saved under
MY PHOTOS under MY DOCUMENTS from JPEG to BITMAP. How
can I flip all of them back to jpeg at once again? Or at
least have my jpeg pictures come up when I bring up MY
PHOTOS. I believe they are still saved there, along with
the bitmap images.

Also, before to download a picture off of a website, I
just had to right click it, hit GO TO MY COMPUTER, and it
would shuttle it down directly to MY PHOTOS, as a jpeg
image. Now I have to right click picture, hit save as,
AND then save it as a jpeg image.

Most photo editing programs convert jpegs to a higher
quality format for enhancing. After editing your photo(s),
simply use the "save as" option & save them as jpeg files.
Don't forget, when you load the photo into a photo editing
program, the original file isn't changed to a bitmap
unless you save it as such (just use the "save" option)

the problem is, everything I download now is saved as
bitmap unless I change it. So this program has forever
changed the way I can download images? Can I erase
microsoft photo and it will flip my photos back to jpeg?
