Saving and restoring emails...

George

A friend of mine had his computer die, but the hard drive is still good.
He wants me to save all his email from Outlook. Where can I find the
file or group of files that contain the emails and address books? I am
assuming that he would like to have them restored and combined with his
most recent emails the he has on a new computer. So, my next question
is how can I do that?

Thanks for any suggestions,
George

- Find the original .PST file on the old disk and transfer it to the new
computer (anywhere, but do not replace the new .PST file).
- Make sure that the read-only attribute is not set.
- Open the file with Outlook.
- Merge the data using drag-and-drop copy.

Do not use Import or Export functions for this task!

Thanks for the information. Does the .PST file also contain the address
book?

I also have a question about "Merge the data using drag-and-drop copy."
Does this mean to drag-and-drop the old .PST file with the current file?

Thank you for the help,
George
