Saving an excel workboo

I have been copying worksheets from one workbook into another. When I try to
save the new workbook, it gives me an error message "document not saved". I
have only two workbooks open and no other applications

What is wrong?

A myriad of things!

Did you name the document?
What file type did you select?
What name did you use? Was the name a valid one, or not?
Where did you want to save it to? Was the medium available?
How many worksheets in the file?
How many scenarios in the file?
In other words, have you perhaps exceeded any Excel limitation?
So many questions, and you gave so little info that is is impossible to say
what went wrong!
