Saving a photo as a JPG not a JPEG!

Saving a photo as a JPG
I am setting up a new hard drive and did a clean install of windows
98SE and IE 6.0.2600. Now when I save a JPG from the web it comes in
the save box as a JPEG. And my PhotoShop 3 does not open it till I get
ride of the e in JPEG. Can I switch it to save with the JPG only? I
have show hidden files and show full names in folder options turned on.

When you save or add the image, remove the 'e' in the save text box. If
you can't do that, go to Windows Exporer, locate the file and rename
from there.

Thanks for the reply. Your solution I could figure out already. It
seems to me a couple years ago I had the same problem with the file
name defaulting to jpeg instead of jpg. I know I changed that but can
not remember how I did it.
