SAVE AS in Excel causes a crash

Everytime I uses SAVE AS my Excel crashes; also along the blue top bar (you
might call it) a random single letter appears such as S

I havde tried detect and repair and re-installing. What can I do?

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
