Sasser and the infamous "blue" screen

P

Peggy

My system was infected with Sasser over the weekend.
While I didn't realize what this was, I knew that a
problem existed due to the sluggish response of the
system. By Monday, the only thing that will come up on
the system, is the option to start in "safe mode", which
it won't.

Now, after deciding to reload Windows to enable the
removal of the worm, I find that I can't. After choosing
to either install Windows or Repair, I get the following
message:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut
down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error
screen, restart your compter. If this screen appears
again, follow these steps:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation
or backup utilities. Check your hard drive
configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run
CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then
restart your computer.

HELP! Any suggestions?

Thanks, Peggy
