safe mode?

i have xp sp2, how do i start my computer in 'safe mode' and can i access
system restore in safe mode?
 
Hi

After you reboot your PC keep tapping the F8 key to access a screen that has
Safe Mode as one of the options. Yes, you can access SR via Safe Mode.

What problem have you got?

Press F8 during reboot and choose that option. If by pressing once you do not see boot options, press F8 again and they will show.

i posted my problem earlier 'help i have a ghost' the system is starting
itself and all i get is the blue screen.

I suggest that you contact Dell for their suggestions, especially as the PC
is still under warranty.
