Safe mode

I finally ran the updates for my computer that were always down in the bottom
left hand corner of the taskbar that i always used to click remind me later.
After doing so I restarted my computer as it said. When it came back on the
picture is distorted and wont let me onto the internet so im guessing it is
in safe mode but i cannot get out of it. What do I do?!?!

type msconfig in run then select boot.ini and uncheck /safemode

Q: What exactly was on the left corner?? Notifications area is on the bottom right-hand side.

When system is in Safe mode, there will be a very visible "Safe mode" piece of text on all 4 corners of desktop. Is that what yours shows?

You can always tap F8 Function key at pc startup , wait for bottup choices, and (by hand, using arrow keys) pick normal mode (which is the first choice).
