No I don't think so. The purpose of Safe mode is to boot using
"Generic", built-in drivers for SVGA and the monitor definition
is a basic Plug-&-Play at 60-Hz.
I've never attempted to toggle the resolution in Safe Mode, but
doubt it is possible.
