Safe mode - screen resolution a problem

When I boot in safe mode, my resolution is 680x800 and I can't change it.
But if I try to change an internet explorer option (tools/options), the
APPLY and OK buttons are below the screen, so I can't save any changes. Is
there a work around?

No, Safe Mode is a minimal XP environment. No 3rd-party drivers
load. Because a "Generic" video driver is used you're restricted to a
lower resolution.

Some input fields have keyboard equivalents. These are applied by
holding down Alt and pressing the single key reference for the field.
Which key to press is shown by an Underscore symbol below the
character that activates that function.

You can also use the TAB key to move through all active option fields
and once highlighted press Enter to apply.

Hi Laurel,

Use Alt-A to _A_pply. Sometimes Alt-O will work for OK, but I just
checked IE6 and no shortcut key is set for OK, and Alt-O is used for the
Colors button.

And to be able to see what fields and buttons are available and
which one is currently selected one needs to be able to move the
window upwards, beyond what one can do with the mouse.

Press [Alt]+[Space] then [M]
Now one can use the arrow-keys to move the window around.
(Hands off the mouse while moving.)

The work around is simple.
when you open internet explorer followed by tools - internet options and so
on.
After making the changes you just press enter on the keyboard as by default
apply and ok are selected to save changes.Pressing enter will save your
changes.

I guess you need to actually have this happen to find out that ISN'T
what happens by "default".
