Hi all,

Please forgive me but a couple of people have recently posted that
they use Sygate Personal Firewall, which is also what I use only no
longer available and has no forums.

Can anyone tell me what it means when the Security Log shows:
Information, Application hijacking (has occurred, or whatever).

Just trying to practice safe hex. Thanks for any replies.

Gail

You may also note that the regular icon showing inflow and outflow of traffic
information has changed to being all red. Double click on the systray icon
and read the hijack information.
A good place to back-trace the internet address of a hijacker or snooper is
www.domaintools.com
Some are just from places you have visited, such as registration of a new
automobile vehicle.
It is wise to use the "advanced" tab under "Applications" and set everything
to client only, not server. Then see if the application works through the
firewall. Some won't work, trial and error. Avoid saying 'yes' to all
requests as they come along.
