Running a windows 2000 game on XP

Hello...... Can I run my windows 2000 ATC Simulator game on my new XP
operating system?
I tried and got the following error message:

Run-time error 429
Active X componant can't create object.

Can anyone help?

Run the program compatibility wizard.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/Program Compatibility Wizard
You'll have choice of different Windows versions to try

The software I have requires WIN2000 SP3. How can I get WIN XP to run this
application?
