RunMRU Internet History

Hi,

I have read the posts on Clearing my RunMRU history, but none really attack
my "problem"....

I use autocomplete in Explorer as a handy way to enter sites I use regularly.

I use the Run option on Startmeny to access files, start local and external
webpages etc etc.

However I dont want to mix the two, so I dont want visited webpage to appear
in the run autocomplete box, only the things that I have actually written in
the RUN dialogue box. (however, I still want to keep the autocomplete in
explorer)

Reason is: I have several websites on my computer, stored in different
folders, and if I want to access for example
"http://localhost/firstwebsite/default.asp", through the run box, I always
have to type everything all the way to the "d" in "default, before I can
select that webpage to "run".(because there are pages that come before it
alphabetically) and as there are quite a few, and I work on all of them,
several times, daily, it gets quite tedious (I know, shortcuts is a solution,
but doesnt really fit my needs). also clearing the data on shut down/boot is
not a preffered option.

So, to the Q, is there a way to keep the history in IE as usual, but NOT
have the INTERNET history showing amongst the Run autocomplete entries?

Thanks

Mr Vogel

Thanks for your reply, and although the refeference gave me a bit more
information, it doesnt attack the problem. however I am now in a position to
describe it more precisely ;)

-How can I prevent index.dat entries from suggesting content in the RUNMRU
box. but at the same time keeping them in Internet Explorer.

Thanks

Beats me. I doubt that you can.
I use autocomplete in Explorer as a handy way to enter sites I use
regularly.

Use Favorites instead.

I hate Append Completion, AutoComplete In File Dialog & AutoSuggest and have
all that crap tuned off.
I delete all of my index.dat files daily, except
%windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\OfflineCache.
I clear everything with the Clear button at least once a day.
I have ClearRecentDocsOnExit set 1.
I run MRUBlaster which clears a boatload of MRUs.
