Run allowed software in AD Policy

I am working with a school that wants to limit what
students use on the lab computers. We have been adding
ALLOWED applications to a group policy, but that seems
cumbersome plus we can't seem to get Windows or Office
help to run as allowed applications. Anyone work on a
school district network? What is the best way to control
student access to applications?

Thanks!

I agree - it's not easy to restrict students. They seem to
find a way around everything. If there are fewer
DISALLOWED applications, you might consider defining those
in policy and allow everything else. Otherwise, you are
just going to have to keep adding .exe's to your list of
allowed apps.
If you want to e-mail me directly, I can tell you what we
do on our network.
