I have always been a little confused by the rules available for "Sent"
messages in Outlook (currently using 2003).
I have created a variety of folders in "My Outlook" folders, for various
main subjects (Clients, Family, Friends, Suppliers, etc) and then
sub-folders for the individual people/firms. I have rules set so that when
mail is received from various people, the mail is automatically moved to the
appropriate folder. Great - it keeps everything neat and tidy. I imagine
most people do something similar.
My problem comes with outgoing mail. I don't seem to be able to create a
rule that will move replies/new mail to the appropriate folder. Yes, I can
send a "copy" of the sent mail to the folder, but then have to manually
delete the original - and risk deleting messages that aren't covered by
specific rules. It's a pain in the but having to "file" all the outgoings
manually.
I suspect I might be missing something. Can anyone help please?
