rule issue

Hi,

I have a question that i hope anyone here might be able to help me with. In
Outlook 2002, i set a rule that will make a copy of sending and move it to
the sent items of my account. That rule seems to be turned off by itself very
occasionally (not often) for unknown reason. When i do not have a copy of
what i just sent in my sent items, i know where to check straight away. Most
of the times i was right. It just did not get ticked in its checkbox. But as
far as i know, it's never been touched. very strange.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

what type of email account? Where is the folder you are moving the messages
to? If you use imap and are moving items to an imap folder, if the
connection to the server is temporarily lost, the rule will be disabled.

Hi Diane,

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry that i did not say what type of email account i use. It is imap as you
guessed it right. I would like the sent emails to be going to the sent items
folder of the user account rather than the sent items folder of the personal
folder. So i created a rule that would make a copy of the sent emails and
move it into the sent items folder of my account for instance.

But now it makes sense that the rule always got turned off. I did not know
what caused it. Now i know it. Thank you for your explanation.

So is there any way of getting around this? or i need to change it to POP. I
would prefer to use IMAP than POP personally.

Thank you in advance
