It's one thing to get spam, cross-posts, upset people, etc, but what is
wrong with David Candy? Will he get banned or kicked off or even better,
disconnected by his ISP? There must be plenty of people here that find all
this very, very offensive.

He is either very drunk, or has lost his mind. He began
making the crazy posts around midnight where he lives,
which is Australia, I believe. At the moment, he is either
being arrested, or is "sleeping it off."

Lindsey use the "Block Sender" command if you are using Outlook
Express.

Unfortunately this is yet another instance, albeit an extreme one of an
overall lack of decorum in these newsgroups.

Without starting an argument on free expressions, where is the need to abuse
people because their comprehension of a technical issue is not as great as
that of someone else?

Why is there a sense of entitlement among some posters that their issue
needs to have a simple, free fix within 4.3 seconds of their post being
submitted?

Yes, there are a lot of similar posts, and topics which get routinely
recovered. However, many of these seem to be from those who are not as
familiar with computing and have happened to stumble across this newsgroup
from the MS support site.

If this is supposed to be an electronic community of those looking to share
knowledge, can't we be a little more tolerant?

That's enough for now. I'm going back to searching my desk for my
rose-colored glasses...

Best way is to set up a kill filter for messages from him, if your
news reader has that feature.

Thanks for the excellent post.

Because MS have done their best to make this look like an MS sponsored
'forum' or chat room, and many casual visitors assume that anyone
replying is MS staff, and thus billionaires, and thus fair game for
shouting at??

Usenet as a whole varies enormously, but for some reason the MS groups
seem to attract more than average amounts of crackpots.
