RSM.exe woes

Hello,

I have been trying to create a backup script using RSM.exe and its making me
crazy! The problem is this, I have a tape library with six tapes that I
load at the beginning of the week. I want to deallocate and prepare 1 tape
each night by its Slot#. I have this part figured out with one problem: If
I leave the deallocated tape in the Backup\DLT folder, it is automatically
allocated as soon as NTbackup starts so that by the time NTBackup looks for
an piece of free media, it's already allocated and the backup fails. I have
not been able to figure out how to get around this problem. I know that I
could deallocate all tapes at the beginning of the week, but if I do that I
lose access to the data on them and I don't want to lose that until
absolutely necessary. I also don't want to have to prepare a tape every day
manually.

Does anyone have an effective means of moving a tape to the Free media
container programmatically? Or any other suggestions?
