RRAS win2000 not starting

I cannot get the service to 'start'. by that I mean when I go to the
connection manager the server shows up but when I click on the option of
configure and enable routing and remote access' nothing happens. the service
shows as started but if I chose to restart I get the error that the
operation timed out and may not have been started. is there a way to
re-install RRAS.

If your service shows as started, but still RRAS is not configured on the
MMC, then it is possible that Incoming Connections started on your machine.
Go to Network Connections folder ( Start -> Settings -> Network Connections
(Right Click) -> Open)
Check if Incoming connections is started.

To remove Incoming Connections use this command:
net stop remoteaccess

Then try configuring RRAS again.
