rras service will not start

when i try to start rras i receive errors
1. The Routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific
error 127.

2. The currently configured authentication provider failed to load and
initialize successfully. The specified procedure could not be found.

also when i open rras there are serval machines listed that do not exist.
How do you remove them from the rras table so that they won't sohow everytime
you rebuild the server list.

The reason for the error might be because the IAS database is damaged
because RRAS also uses the same database(ias.mdb). Also is there any event
logged in the event viewer? It may help to give additional clues.
