RPC problem...PLZ HELP!!!!

Hi...here's a comp problem that I noticed just today.
I have XP PRO for about 2 yrs and everything is fine.
Today, when I started windows...and when I left the
computer on the desktop interface (ie not opening
programs..etc.) after around 5 minutes and sometimes
10...a problem occurs.
This is what it stated:

This system is shutting down. Please save all work in
progress and log off.....This shutdown was initiated by
NT Authority\System...
Time before shutdown: 1 min..(countdown)..
Windows must now restart because the Remote Procedure
Call (RPC) Service terminated unexpectedly.

My comp then reboots....and if I let it..and wait long
enough on the my desktop screen...sure enough..this cycle
repeats itself.

Here's what I did the previous night. I went to
download.com and got Kazaa desktop 2.5.1 and also my
roommate recommended Spybot: Search and Destroy (kinda
like my Adaware 6.0 program) I installed both. In
Kazaa, I started downloading music videos...with Spybot,
I started a "full-comp scan and fix all problems"....
This morning I left for work assuming my comp has already
finished. When I got back, nothing appeared wrong with
my comp until I reboot my comp. When loading win xp
and "loading my personal settings"...xp was interrupted
by Spybot: Search and destroy..and it started scanning my
comp again...after when it reached about 15%
finished...it cancelled itself and some message regarding
my MSinfo32 (or something) appeared. And that brings us
to now, with the current problem....side note: when I
load a web-page and THEN leave my comp alone...the
problem doesn't seem to occur...after 5-10 min..which is
how long I waited..but if I leave it on my desktop, the
problem remains. WHAT appears to be the problem??? When
I search google for assistance..they were telling me to
download a patch?? Is that good? Can someone please
help!!??
Some comp detail: 733 mhz compaq presario, 384 SDRAM
