resolution shoulda been at 1024 by 768... clicked apply.THEN MY moniter whent

If you want some serious replies then it might be a good thing not
to use kiddie-talk but proper English. Using a spelling checker
would be a brilliant idea.

I think you are very rude to insult someone for how they speak, you know
nothing of the poster yet you are nasty to them, there are ways to tell
people the correct way to post. shame on you.

Lenie
you have a good New Year now and maybe you will learn to be more tolerant of
other's.

OK, how can I point out in the nicest of ways that you are perhaps a trifle
inconsistent. You write
"there are ways..." (where "ways" is a plural) and
"tolerant of other's..." (where "others is also a plural).
It is "my sons, my cars, five dogs", all without an apostrophe. It would
simplify things if every word with a trailing "s" had an apostrophe before
it but this is usually not the case.

I hope this is nice enough for you. And by the way, if you read in between
the lines of the OP's post then you will see that he deliberately chose
kiddie-talk. It was his choice, same as it his his choice never to use a
spelling checker. He might choose differently for his next post.

May your New Year be successful and not overloaded with errant apostrophes.

Regardless, you are very rude in the way you respond. Not everyone has
command of the English
as you. And, I might add, what's wrong with a little humor?

OK, let's look at this issue seriously. When someone creates a post then he
attempts to present himself to his potential responders in a certain way
that he believes will encourage them to come to his assistance. Most posters
present themselves as competent and courteous people who would appreciate
some help from total strangers. Now the OP in this thread was certainly
courteous and perhaps competent but by his choice of language he created the
impression that he was just "mucking around". You say it's rude to point
this out to him; I say that pointing out his error of judgement is doing him
a favour.

You might compare his post to a job application. In both cases he is trying
to get other people to do something for him. To be successful in either case
he must put his best foot forward. A deliberately misspelt post is likely to
be ignored. A deliberately misspelt job application will land in the waste
paper basket.

To your last point: Yes, there is plenty of room for humour in a post. I'm
all in favour of it. Unfortunately a badly misspelt post relates to a
humorous sketch in about the same way as the screech of a circular saw
relates to a Mozart sonata. It just isn't funny to spell "problem" as
"problum", "dimension" as "demention" or "re-booted" as "rebuted".

For whatever it's worth, my vote goes to Monitor.

This is a serious place, where serious people share their problems and
solutions. Nobody is against jokes and/or humor when used in the proper
place, proper amount. This is not a spoiled brat's playground.

In my opinion, Monitor has been unnecessarily gentle. Nevertheless, I think
that Monitor has made one error: (s)he should leave this kid unreplied. This
way, the kid should carry his problems to kindergarten, where they belong
to, or come back again when he matures sufficiently to be worth a reply.

I think that the insinuations about being harsh to people not able to speak
well are totally incorrect. I have seen so many replies to messages written
in so "bad" language, trying to understand what the originator was trying to
tell. And so on...

Perhaps that is your problem. I.E. You're too serious. (Let's look at this
issue seriously)
