I had configured my 2000 Advanced Server for users to dial in and during the configuration I added an ip range to be used for users who connect. I have two questions.

1. Is it mandatory that a dial in user be allocated an ip?
2. If it is not, where is the setting to remove the ip range?

Thanks.

Anthony

If you enable TCP/IP as one of the protocols that your clients will use once
they are connected, then Yes, they will need an IP. If you don't want them
to have an IP, don't use TCP/IP, use NetBEUI or IPX
