Roaming Profiles & VPN

Hi,

For a VPN to log on quicker, a local profile is best. Can I set a
localprofile on someones home PC (XP Pro) and leave them with roaming
profiles in the office (also XP Pro)? Its an NT domain.

Thanks

Is there another way round this? The only policies I have set up are for 98
users.
Thanks

On the XP machine at home.
Run gpedit.msc
Navigate to Computer Configuration -- Administrative Template -- System --
User Profiles

You will see a setting "Only allow local user profiles", enable it.
This only affects the local computer

Or you could

Change the " Slow Network connection timeout for user profiles"
Enable it and change the default from 500 Kbps to 5000 knps, that should
stop all but a LAN connection from working.
This only affects the local computer.
