I have a home network of 4 PC's and I wish to set up roaming profiles so that
users can log in at any computer and still be able tot access their documents
and settings. When I go to the Microsoft Support website, they give you
instructions on how to do it, but they are not correct, they do not work. I
know that people think you need to have a server in order to do this, but you
don't. You can use your Workgroup for Roaming Profiles. Can someone Please
give me detailed instructions on how to do this. I would greatly appreciate
this!

Thank-you!

Sorry, but you have to have a server to set up roaming profiles. In a
workgroup, you can redirect your Documents folder to a network share,
but that's not the same as roaming profiles.

What have you seen that tells you that you can set up roaming profiles
in a workgroup?

What did the instructions on the Microsoft Support web site say?

Perhaps I was wrong in my first reply when I said that you need a
server to have roaming profiles. If so, I apologize.

This web site gives the details of a very complicated procedure that
it says will configure true roaming profiles using Windows XP
Professional in a workgroup:

I found it by doing a web search for "workgroup roaming profiles".
