Unable to change local profiles to roaming profiles

I am now presently installing a domain in a clients office and i am trying to
change the winxp workstations local profiles into roaming profiles i have
copied everything over the way it should be according to KB articles but when
i go to change a local to roaming the roaming radio button is greyed out i am
logged into the system locally as the administrator or person with admin
rights, I could change it to a mandatory profile by changing the ntuser.dat
to ntuser.man but that is not what we are trying to accomplish

Have you logged in as the user's new domain user account to create the
profile first, before copying the data from the old one in? I'm not sure
what KB you're following....what is it?
