.rm files associated by accident with win pic and fax viewer

my pc runs on windows xp sp2 home edition

i accidentally added windows picture and fax viewer as a recommended program
in opening my .rm (real audio / real video ) file. whenever i right click on
any .rm file and highlight Open with windows picture and fax viewer becomes
an option along with real player when before it was just real player that was
there. also, when i click on choose program windows picture and fax viewer is
listed under Recommended Programs (along with real player) when it should be
listed under Other Programs (along with everything else).

is there a way to make windows picture and file viewer return to being
listed under Other Programs?

my .rm files still run on real player. i just want to remove windows picture
and file viewer as an option when i right click and highlight open with

If I right mouse click on the file icon, and choose "Open With", and then
select the correct software application, I usually correct this situation (I
often receive email file formats I don't recognize and have to try multiple
options). There is usually a message that comes up that reads something to
the effect of "Do you want this application to always open this kind of file"
and if I choose "Yes" or "OK", it resolves my problem. Don't know if that
helps ... but its another option.
