Help Please

Hey I just bought a new computer because my old one took
a dump. I reformatted the old one so nothings on it. XP
Home came with the new one and I was wondering if there
are any risks to using the Operating System CD from the
new one to install XP on the old one. Thanks.

One license, one computer, the way it has always been with all
Microsoft consumer OSs.
If you want Windows on another computer, you need to buy a second
copy.

First, if it came with your new one it might not even install on the old one
since often these setups are bios locked to the original computer on which
they were installed.

Second, aside from it being prohibited in the EULA (End User License
Agreement), assuming it does install, XP will cease to function after thirty
days as you will be unable to activate it on the old computer. You will
receive message that XP is already activated on another computer and the
system will not allow you to activate.
