Hi

Can I use RIS to deploy other versions of Windows (Win 98, WinXP) to new
computers? I found that only Windows 2000 can be
deployed via RIS or am I wrong?
Also, can we use SMS 2003 to remotly install Windows (which versions??) to
clients also like RIS?

Thanks in advance
Regards
Miha

You can use RIS to deploy Windows 2000 or later operating systems
(workstation and servers).

It is possible to deploy "Wintendo" by using third-party products like
the RIS Menu Editor and boot for example DOS using RIS and then deploy
Wintendo from that platform, but I really dont recommend using
Wintendo at all...

If you have access to Windows PE that can also be booted from the RIS
Server and then you can deploy virtually every Microsoft OS from that
environment

SMS 2003 can not (yet) deploy operating systems, there will be a
feature pack (currently in beta) that will support this.
