RIS install error

Hi, I get this error when I try to install winxp to some laptops in our net.

Setup was unable to format the partition. The disk may be damaged. Make sure
the drive is switched on and properly connected to your computer. If the
disk is a SCSI disk, make sure your SCSI devices are properly terminated.
Consult your computer or SCSI adapter documentation for more information.

The hardisk is a Fujitsu(model MHT2030at, 30GB) and have already winxp
installed.

Does anybody know how to solve this?

Please let me know!

/Martin

After that, I get this error message:
Setup cannot set permissions for \device\harddisk0\partition1

Use NTFS instead of FAT32 or create a a smaller partition size with
windows pe (diskpart) or fdisk

NTFS is used if you set
[Unattended]
Repartition = Yes

(Deletes all partitions on the first drive and reformats the drive
with NTFS)

See this article (

Hi, tanks for your respond.

Let's see - I have set the:

[Unattended]
Repartition = Yes

but got the same problem.

I have also deleted all partitions with fdisk.

How can I format the harddrive with nfs from dos? Does it help?

The strange thing is, some of my images works and some doesn't.

If I chose to only RIS plain winxp (cd-image) everything works fine.

But if I chose an image from a riprep it doesn't.

I have tried with a 100% clean harddrive and got the same problem.

This problem is on a laptop.

Do you have any idée?

Do you speek Swedish?
