RIS and deleting images

I

Izzy

I've just slipstreamed XP SP2 and would like to delete my original XP SP1
image off of the RIS server...what's the best way to do this? Can I just
delete the XP SP1 folder? Thanks.

The best way is to use Active Directory Users and Computers, Click
Properties of the RIS Computer, and click Remote Installation Tab, View
images and delete it from there.

Suggestion - don't delete your SP1 RIS image until you have thoroughly
tested the SP2 image. Perhaps you will need to roll back a PC to the
previous service pack for testing purposes.

You can prevent the SP1 image showing up in the list of choices during RIS
by either NTFS permissioning the .sif file (located in the i386\templates of
the image) or renaming the .sif to .old (or something else).
