Right Clicking desktop icons

Whenever I right click an icon (any icon) on my desktop, the egg timer shows
and takes a very long time, in the end I have to restart my PC as it seems to
crash. Any ideas?

A problem with a context menu entry is often the cause of this problem, see

Hi thanks for that, but nothing shows at all when I right click, it just gets
stuck and then I have to restart, any other ideas? It's driving me mad!!!!

Hi,

Right, which is why you need to start removing the entries until you can
open the menu without the system crashing. The steps are outlined in that
article (written by MVP Ramesh).
