reversing the partition of a disk

I added a second disk drive from another computer. Windows xp would not
assign a drive letter so I went into disk management and clicked on drive and
tried to assign a drive letter but the partition disk came up so I
partitioned the disk but didn't format it. Come to find out all my data is
gone. Is there any way for me to get my data back.

Without spending lots of money, no.
There are utilities that will supposedly recover data from a deleted
partition, but in my experience none of them work very well.

Chalk it up to a lesson learned.

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

Trying something here might work:

Data Recovery Tools:
http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.html

It's at least free so it's well worth trying.

Try MBRWORK from the free downloads section at http://www.bootitng.com

Note that this utility presumes that the user has some understanding
of how the data structure of a disk works. If you are not that
familiar with this then you may want to enlist some additional help or
try some other utility.

Good luck
