Reverse Partition

Eli

Hi, Hope you can help me.
I bought a Dell laptop running on Windows XP Professional with 4 partitions
on.
I would like to meld one of the partitions with the C drive to increase my
disk space. The C drive only have 9GB space and after some programs are
loaded keeps on showing low disk space.

"...after some programs are loaded..."

Does "loaded" mean when you open programs? If so, you're not seeing a
message "showing low disk space" but you may be seeing a message that
your virtual memory is low. That means you do not have sufficient RAM to
support all the software you are running (including in the background.)
Your solution is to close programs or buy more RAM.

Also make sure that virtual memory is correctly set to "system managed
size".

Or does "loaded" mean when you install software? If so, you can merge
partitions with third-party partition management software. Two popular
examples are Acronis' Disk Director and Symantec's Partition Magic. Be
forewarned that partition management software is complicated.

Before considering partition management software, run the Disk Cleanup
Wizard (and do not follow the suggestion to compress seldom used files.)

Sorry might not have been clear enough. I want to load programs such as MSN
chat and Nero. My space on C is 9GB (FAT) but I only have 95MB free space
left. While E: has 20GB (NTFS)with 18GB Free.I would like to use more of E's
space on C.

I can open programs with no fault, my VM is fine I keep getting a error
saying low disk space click here to free up some space. I do a Disk, History
and temp files clean up regulary. My system restore and temp internet files
are on lowest on the space usage bar.

So you want to install software, but there's not enough space on your C:
drive? Third-party partitioning software. will allow you to expand the
size of your C: drive. For example: Reduce the size of E: and increase
the size of C: accordingly.
