Boot Drive Changed from C to M in Disk Management by Mistake.

Man ... was this dumb. I was trying to get Windows XP to recognize a USB
drive. When it wouldn't show up in My Computer, I went into disk management,
noticed a drive without an assigned letter with the right amount of disk
space, figured that must me the drive, assigned the letter "M" to it, and
then got out of disk management. Turns out though, that was NOT the USB
drive ... it was the "C" drive or boot drive, so now I can't get at or access
most things. The only things working are My Computer and the Recycle Bin ...
plus a text editor that I had open at the time I made this dumb change.

I haven't rebooted or anything yet in case the machine won't come back.
Should I reboot, or is there something I should do to get it back from here?
I can't run disk management or any tools ... and although I can launch
Control Panel, I can't run any of the programs. Help!

Hi,

Click Start_Run and type: diskmgmt.msc
I know you said you can't run disk management or any tools, but I assume
that's through Control Panel. Give the above a try and see if it works.
