Restoring PST from DVD

I have a client that backed up his PST file to DVD and then had me reimage
his machine asuring me that he had a backup.....Well, after restoring the PST
file to the proper dir and making sure it was not read-only Outlook 2003
claims said file is not a PST file. Scanpst will not open the file. I tried a
third party PST repair program (Winternals) and it says the 900MB file is
empty. Is there any hope?

Hi Mike,
from which version of outlook you have backup your pst file?
