I have outlook 2003 and it had a feature showing my unread items in the inbox
when I clicked on it. Somehow I deleated that feature and I can't figure out
how to restore it.

You mean Search Folders? Does it still show as a subfolder in the folder
Search Folders? Otherwise recreate it by File-> New-> Search Folder. There
is already a template for showing unread mail accross your folders.

I assume you mean a search folder? You can create a new one by
right-clicking on search folders, and then choosing whatever you wish as the
parameters, such as "unread mail." This shows you unread messages in *all*
your folders, not just inbox - it's very handy.
