Restore not working after installed new hard drive

I installed a new Seagate 120 gig SATA Hard Drive to
which I migrated Windows XP using the Seagate Utility
from the old Maxtor 40 gig drive. Everything seems to
work except that I cant use system restore. I cant open
it and I cant turn it off and turn it on. I very
carefully made a restore point before doing the upgrade.

Anyone have any ideas?

the fact the you used the Seagate utility to move the
install may be the issue.

may want to try to reinstall system restore (this will
delete restore points)

it may require a repair of windows, however.
