RESTORE FROM WINXP BACKUP

I have a good backup of my data files via Windows XP Backup, but when I
restore the files, I only get the folders and they are blank. Cannot see any
files, however the size of the folder indicates that there are data files.
Can anyone please advise how to restore the files from my backup? I have
restored using the restore wizard and this only restores the folders.
Thanks!

When browsing the folders during the restore process do you see the files?

It's possible you need to take ownership.

Look that up in Help & Support -- "take ownership" -- the directions are
pretty easy to follow there.

No, I get this error message "The backup files is either damaged or could not
be found" "You can attempt to catalog the contents of a damaged backup by
turning off the option to use on-media catalogs"
But if I do properties on the backup folder, it has nearly 36GB of data.
Appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks
