XP restore failure

S

I have two hard drives (both NTFS). One is used only to store backups
created by the xp backup program. I recently reformatted my primary
hard drive and performed several restore operations to restore
different types of data. (I back up different types of files in
separate backups). After 4 successful restores, the last restore I
attempted was to restore all my music files (3 gigs or so). I got the
following error:

"The backup file contains inrecognized data and cannot be used"

Any thoughts on getting my music files restored?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Unfortunately, you're probably screwed and won't get that music back.
Lessons learned?

1) Most of the software Microsoft bundles with Windoze is junk and shouldn't
be trusted to be reliable. (just like it's operating system)

2) When you purchase Windows, expect to keep spending money on third-party
software that is going to be more reliable and use that instead of the junk
that Microsoft provides.

3) Invest some time in finding alternatives to Windows. You'll find there's
much out there that will provide you with a dependable and SECURE
alternative to Windoze. You won't be sorry. You can start by looking
here ...

If they still work on the second hard drive, just use Windows Explorer
and select all your music and then use edit/copy. Open your new hard
drive with Windows Explorer and use edit/paste.
