Restore AD

Hi,

I have a windows 2000 server with active directory. I have the system state
backup. What i want to know is ..

1) Does the system state backup include the Active directory also ?

2) IF so then if i install a fresh copy of 2000 in a machine and restore the
backup will it work ?

3) Is this backup based on the PC configuration ( Like i backup from a P4
machine and restore in a PIII.. will it work ?)

1) Yes. If you backup the System State on a DC this will be included:
-AD (NTDS)
-Boot files
-COM+ Class registration DB
-Registry
-SYSVOL
-Certificate Server (If you also run Certificate Server on it, that is)

2) Follow below links to get a step-by-step procedure.

3) See below link on "...different hardware configuration"
