Request help with CD and DVD drive speed

I have two drives, one is CD the other is DVD and CD, both are Memorex
drives. They are rated at 52x. The disks I am using to burn programs
on are CD-R rated at 52x. I use Nero burning Rom to encode and burn
Video files. They only burn at 4x. I have tried everything to get
them to burn at a higher rate, but I have had no success. I thought
that Roxio easy media creator 8 may be at fault, so I deleted it from
my system. Alas, that was not the problem, so I reinstalled it. Does
anyone have any idea how to correct this problem?

Check to make sure the drives are running in DMA mode and not PIO. MVP
