If you require details then a good starting point would be to
give a good description of your current system, especially
the file system(s) you use and the drives you have. Your
extremely brief posts may save you a lot of time but they
do not encourage respondents to spend time on answering
your question.

Windows 2000 Pro with Windows ME on a second partition. All documents on a
second drive.

All file systems FAT32 for compatibility.

Dear Pegasus,

I originally submitted a detailed post and no one responded after several
days. Hence, the second, briefer, post, hoping brevity would induce a
response where length failed. It worked.

If I tweaked you, I apologize.

1. Install WinME on the second partition.
2. Get a copy of bootpart.exe from here:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/gvollant/bootpart.htm
3. Boot the machine with a Win98 boot disk from
here: www.bootdisk.com
4. Run this command:
bootpart winnt boot:c:
This will restore your Win2000 boot sector.
5. Run this command:
bootpart win95 c:\winME.sys "Windows ME"
This will create a WinME boot sector file. It will
also create an appropriate entry in c:\boot.ini.
