Replying to emails

Jeff Needle

When I reply to an email, the text of the original is set off by a vertical
bar. I want to set off my inline comments in some way that they'll stand
out in the reply. I go to Options, E-mail options, and see where I can
check off a box that lets me specially format my comments. But the box is
grayed out, and nothing I do seems to activate the box. Why is it grayed
out?

WinXP, Outlook 2003.

As always, thanks.

You mean the option "Mark my comments with"?
Make sure your default message format is set to HTML or the Mail Format tab.
You probably have it set to Plain Text now.

If you are in a corporate environment, then it could also be that this
option has been disabled as a policy.

As a workaround you can use this method;
